My earliest memory of realizing that I would have to one day choose a career that would allow me to make a living is from when I was about 5. We were watching The Cosby Show… I remember seeing the youngest member of the cast, Olivia (played by a young Raven Symone), and saying “That! That is what I want to do…” I was informed that it was called acting and over the years it seemed as if everything opened up and all roads lead me to that career. I participated in any and everything that would allow me to express myself creatively in performance and because my childhood was sometimes plagued with issues that were out of my control but heavily affected me, it was my serenity. I found it to be so cathartic!
A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
One of the biggest reasons I started to blog was to find a way to inspire others… It wasn’t long before I found out that sharing my story and experiences with others would not only encourage and uplift my followers, but it’s an extremely healing process for me as well. I was shocked when I discovered that I felt the same therapeutic process that up until that point, I’d only felt while performing. I realized that while theater is something that I love and something that will always be a part of my life in some form, THIS is my purpose. Being trained for the stage has provided me with the skills necessary to successfully and confidently transition into speaking. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was being prepared for my true destiny. Performance provided a way for me to process the trials I faced at a young age and now in turn, my speaking will provide a way for others to deal with some of those same trials.
“Jamie Berry is one of the most amazing young women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She’s a beautiful soul inside and out. If I could describe her or her skill level in any way it would be “triumph meets a fresh awakening.”
Jamie was one our guest speakers at our annual F.L.Y. Girls weekend Retreat. We are a non profit faith based organization geared toward building and empowering the young girl to build a healthy, mind, body and spirit. Jamie spoke from a deep and sincere place that touched the lives of 33 young women like no other. She was the perfect speed for their minds because her experiences allowed her to vividly express her journey from a teen to a young adult. Ms. Jamie was truly a force to be reckoned with during F.L.Y. Girls weekend 2015. I would recommend her to be the speaker for any organization or business that’s committed to enhancing the overall individual.”

“Jamie spoke for the Gamma Phi Delta Youth Auxiliary on the importance of dreams and goals. Ms. Berry did a superb job as she held the attention of the youth by focusing on and discussing the issues they will face after high school and into their early college years. One of her main focal points was staying true to the dreams and goals they have already set up for themselves. And, not being sidetracked by life’s curve balls. Demonstrating a ‘stick-to-it-ness’ using her own testimony of survival as grounds of support for her theory. I would definitely recommend her as a good solid motivational speaker for any group.”
